Apple recently purchased PullString, a San Francisco startup that enables the design and publishing of voice apps through its PullString Converse platform, reports Axios.
PullString could be used to improve the voice capabilities of Siri, Apple’s personal voice assistant.
On its website, PullString says that it can be used to „collaboratively design, prototype and publish voice applications for Amazon Alexa.“

Amazon today announced that it is acquiring eero, a company known for its mesh Wi-Fi systems.
eero makes a range of easy-to-use and somewhat affordable mesh Wi-Fi systems, designed to extend Wi-Fi signal across a person’s entire home, putting an end to areas with weak signal.
There are no details on the purchase price, but Amazon says that it is acquiring eero to „help customers better connect smart home devices.“

Apple has finalized a business agreement with Dialog Semiconductor to license its iPhone power management technology and transfer technical assets, in a deal worth $600 million.
As part of the agreement, Apple will acquire some of the Anglo-German chipmaker’s assets and 300 of its R&D staff, which is around 16 percent of Dialog’s workforce. Dialog’s shares rose as much as 34 percent on the news, their highest since 2002.
Announcing the deal on Thursday, Dialog said Apple would pay it $300 million in cash for the transaction and prepay a further $300 million for products to be delivered to Apple over the next three years. [...]
