Pandora Announces Personalized Podcast Curation With the ‚Podcast Genome Project‘

Following its acquisition by SiriusXM in September, Pandora today announced that it will begin offering specialized podcast curation under the Podcast Genome Project. Similar to its Music Genome Project, the PGP will launch in a public beta format and combine human curation with advanced machine learning to offer users specific podcast recommendations, „down to the episodic level.“

Pandora says that the Podcast Genome Project will evaluate content based on more than 1,500 attributes like MPAA ratings, timely topics, production style, content type, host profile, and combine this with listener signals like thumb ratings, skips, and replays. Machine learning [...]

Lyft Announces ‚Lyft Rewards‘ Loyalty Program Coming in December for Select Riders

Lyft today revealed that a loyalty program for its customers, „Lyft Rewards,“ will begin rolling out for select passengers in December, allowing these users to be rewarded for using the service.

The program will work by tracking each time you use Lyft to get around, netting you points for every dollar that you spend on the ride-hailing service. With enough points, you’ll earn rewards like an upgrade to Lyft Lux or discounts on a future ride. In the app, Lyft will show you how close you are to your next reward.

GigSky Announces eSIM Support for iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR

GigSky, a company that offers pay-as-you-go cellular data plans in more than 190 countries around the world, today announced that it now supports the eSIM in the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

eSIM-based GigSky data plans are available on Apple’s new devices through the latest version of the GigSky World Mobile Data app, which was updated today.

Adding a GigSky data plan when traveling can be done by downloading the app on an iPhone XR, XS Max, or XS running iOS 12.1 or later. GigSky says that built-in data connectivity will activate the eSIM with a cellular data only plan with no need to acquire a GigSky physical SIM card.

Blizzard Announces Full-Fledged Diablo Game for Mobile Devices

At today’s Blizzcon event, Blizzard announced the upcoming launch of Diablo Immortal, a full-fledged action RPG that’s set in the Diablo universe.

Developed alongside NetEase, Diablo Immortal takes place between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. The Worldstone has been shattered and Skarn, Herald of Terror is collecting the shards to resurrect Diablo.

According to designer Wayne Cheng, who spoke about the game in an App Store feature, players will see Westmarch during its golden age and roam through new locations like the Shassar Sea in eastern Kehjistan. Nine outdoor zones will be available at launch, according to Blizzard.
