Pixelmator Pro Gains Full Support for macOS Mojave, Light Mode and New Core ML 2-Powered Auto Enhance Feature

Popular image editing app Pixelmator Pro was today updated to version 1.2, which adds full support for macOS Mojave, a new light mode, faster machine learning tools, and more.

The update introduces compatibility for Continuity Camera and Quick Actions, two macOS Mojave features. Continuity Camera support is designed to let you import a photo into Pixelmator Pro directly from an iPhone, while Quick Actions let you edit images using Finder.

Jaguar and Land Rover Set to Begin Offering CarPlay and Android Auto

Jaguar and Land Rover will soon offer CarPlay and Android Auto in both new and existing vehicles in the United States.

A spokesperson for the brands confirmed to MacRumors that, from the 2019 model year forward, all Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles equipped with its InControl Touch Pro or Touch Pro Duo infotainment systems will be available with an optional smartphone connectivity package including CarPlay and Android Auto.

Jaguar and Land Rover say the smartphone connectivity package will be an optional installation in new vehicles, either at the factory or port-of-entry, at a cost of $280 and up depending on the model and trim level.

Apple Music App for Android Gains Android Auto Support, Search by Lyrics and More

Following the release of iOS 12, which brought a few new Apple Music features, Apple has updated its Apple Music app for Android to introduce feature parity.

Today’s update brings support for searching by lyrics, an iOS 12 feature that’s designed to let you locate songs and artists using song lyrics rather than a song name.

To use the feature, all you need to do is type in a sentence from the lyrics of a particular song and Apple Music will try to find it. This doesn’t work with all songs, but it does work with those that offer lyrics in the Apple Music app.

Pixelmator Pro Gains Core ML-Powered Auto Selective Color Adjustment and New Effects

Pixelmator today updated its pro image editing software, Pixelmator Pro, to version 1.1.4 to add new effects, a new Auto Selective Color adjustment tool that’s powered by Core ML, and more.

The Auto Selective Color feature allows selective color adjustments to be applied automatically to images to improve specific colors using machine learning.

A new Light Leak effect adds a sunny, vintage feel to photos, while a Bokeh effect can add artistic camera blur. There’s a new Spin Blur to create circular motion effects, and a Noise effect lets you add digital noise to photos.
