Apple Named World’s Most Valuable Brand for Fifth Consecutive Year

Apple was named the world’s most valuable brand in Interbrand’s 2017 Best Global Brands ranking this week, marking Apple’s fifth consecutive year in the position.

Apple’s Interbrand valuation was up three percent, coming in at $184.15 billion to beat out Google ($141.7B), Microsoft ($80B), Coca-Cola ($69.7B), Amazon ($64.8B), and Samsung ($59.3B). Apple and Google together have held the top two positions for several years, but Microsoft’s #3 position is new and comes thanks to double-digit percent growth.

Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of iOS 11 to Developers, Removes iCloud Messages for Now

Apple today seeded the fifth beta of iOS 11 to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after releasing the fourth beta and two months after introducing the new update at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Registered developers can download the fifth iOS 11 beta from Apple’s Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed.

According to Apple’s release notes, in the fifth beta, iCloud Messages has been removed. Apple plans to reintroduce it in a future update to iOS 11. Today’s beta fixes AirPlay, and tapping the AirPlay button in videos that are not full screen will no longer crash some apps. [...]

Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of New watchOS 4 Operating System to Developers

Apple today seeded the fifth beta of an upcoming watchOS 4 update to developers, two weeks after seeding the fourth beta and two months after introducing the watchOS 4 update at its 2017 Worldwide Developers Conference.

Once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Apple Developer Center, the watchOS 4 beta can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General –> Software update.

Subscribe to the MacRumors YouTube channel for more videos. To install the update, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it must be placed on the charger, and it has to be in range of the iPhone.

Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of macOS High Sierra to Developers

Apple today seeded the fifth beta of an upcoming macOS High Sierra update to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after seeding the fourth beta and two months after introducing the new software at the 2017 Worldwide Developers Conference.

The new macOS High Sierra beta can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center or over-the-air using the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

Today’s beta introduces a new option to capture Live Photos while using FaceTime. FaceTime Live Photos was first introduced in the iOS 11 beta.
