iOS 11.2.1 Fixes Autofocus Issue Some iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus Users Experienced After iOS 11.2

The iOS 11.2.1 update released this morning appears to address an ongoing camera focus issue that some iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus users began experiencing following the release of iOS 11.2.

According to affected users, the camera was not able to focus properly when attempting to capture an image. The camera either shifted continually between the two lenses of the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 Plus, or refused to focus entirely. Apple Releases Safari Technology Preview 45 With Bug Fixes and Feature Improvements

Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced more than a year ago in March of 2016. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into future release versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview release 45 includes bug fixes and feature improvements for Rendering, JavaScript, CSS, Web API, Media, Web Inspector, and Accessibility.

iOS 11.2 Update Fixes ‚I.T‘ Autocorrect Bug

iOS 11.2, which was released at midnight on Saturday, appears to fix an autocorrect bug that caused the word „it“ to be autocorrected to „I.T“ on earlier versions of iOS 11.

Not all users were affected, but those who were saw their keyboards offering up „I.T“ as a predictive text suggestion and an automatic autocorrection when typing „it.“ Some people also saw the word „is“ autocorrect to „I.S.“

macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 Beta 6 Fixes Root Password Vulnerability

The newest beta of macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 fixes a major macOS High Sierra vulnerability that enabled the root superuser on a Mac with no password and no security check.

Apple on Wednesday released a security update to fix the problem on machines running the current release version of macOS High Sierra, 10.13.1, but the bug has remained in macOS 10.13.2 until today.
