Apple Gives Straight-to-Series Order for Drama on Child Journalist Hilde Lysiak

Apple has placed a straight-to-series order for a drama series about Hilde Lysiak, a child journalist who publishes a newspaper called the Orange Street News in her hometown of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.

According to Variety, the series will follow a young girl who moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father is from, where she unearths a cold case that everyone in town had attempted to bury.

Here’s How to Temporarily Fix the macOS High Sierra Bug That Gives Full Admin Access to Your Mac Sans Password

A newly discovered bug in macOS High Sierra enables the root superuser on a Mac with a blank password and no security check, essentially giving anyone full access to your Mac.

Apple is likely already working on a fix, but in the meantime, there’s a temporary workaround — enabling the root user with a password. Here’s how: Open System Preferences.

Choose Users & Groups.

Click on the lock to make changes.

Enter your administrator name and password.

Click on „Login Options.“

Choose „Join“ at the bottom of the window.

Greenpeace Gives Apple a B- in ‚Guide to Greener Electronics‘

Greenpeace today published its Guide to Greener Electronics, which provides insight into the environmental practices of 17 major companies including Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Sony, Samsung, and more.

Among all of the companies Greenpeace evaluated for energy, resource consumption, and chemicals, Apple received the second best marks, trailing behind only Fairphone, a device designed with minimal environmental impact in mind.

Apple was lauded for its commitment to renewable energy and reducing supply chain emissions and its efforts to be transparent about the chemicals that are used in its products.
