Apple Shares Fix for File Sharing Issues Following macOS High Sierra Security Update

Apple this afternoon published a new support document that walks users through repairing their file sharing options on their Macs after installing the 2017-001 Security Update for macOS High Sierra 10.13.1, which was released this morning.

Shortly after the security fix was released and users began installing it, file sharing complaints began surfacing on the MacRumors forums. YouTube Claims iPhone Battery Issues Are Fixed in Latest App Update

Earlier this month, YouTube came in for heavy criticism after multiple users of its mobile app reported plummeting battery life on their iPhones and iPads. iPhone X users in particular said the YouTube app caused their device to run much hotter than usual when watching videos. YouTube admitted there was a battery-draining bug that it was working to fix, and today the service claims to have done just that.

Version 12.45 of the app was pushed out to users this morning with the accompanying note „Fixed an issue with battery usage“. We haven’t had enough time with the app to confirm the issue is indeed fixed across all devices, but initial tests on an iPhone [...]

YouTube iOS App Causing Battery Drain, Overheating Issues for Some Users

YouTube has confirmed it is working to resolve a bug in its mobile app that causes significant battery drain on Apple devices, even when the app is running in the background.

First covered by tech blog PiunikaWeb, the issue has been noted by several MacRumors forum members, as well as on Reddit and Twitter, and appears to be mainly affecting devices running iOS 11.1.1.

Some New iPhone X Owners Facing Activation Issues

The iPhone X is now widely available across the United States, but some new iPhone X owners aren’t able to start using their new phones due to carrier activation issues and congestion.

On the MacRumors forums, a number of AT&T users are complaining about activation problems, and there are also reports of activation issues on Twitter and reddit. Some AT&T customers are seeing long wait times for the activation process before it eventually fails with an error message.
