Apple Maps Collecting Pedestrian Data Starting in California, Likely to Improve Walking Directions

Last month, a person wearing an Apple Maps backpack with LiDAR equipment was spotted at the intersection of Stockton and Sutter streets in San Francisco, suggesting Apple now has employees collecting street-level data on foot.

Apple Store Openings This Month: The Westchester, Third Street Promenade, Bangkok, and Likely Champs-Élysées

Apple has announced that two of its retail stores in the United States will reopen over the next week following months of renovations, while two brand new locations are also expected to open in Paris and Bangkok.

Kaspersky Lab Says Report Claiming China Hacked Apple’s Former Server Supplier is Likely ‚Untrue‘

Russia-based cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab today said that while „hardware supply chain attacks are a reality,“ evidence suggests Bloomberg Businessweek’s report about Chinese intelligence tampering with server motherboards manufactured by Apple’s former supplier Supermicro is „untrue.“

Apple data center Kaspersky Lab said the report „should be taken with a grain of salt“ in its 14-page analysis of the alleged attack, obtained by MacRumors:

New AirPods Likely Delayed if Apple Doesn’t Launch AirPower Charging Mat Today

Today’s leaks from Apple’s XML sitemap have revealed a flurry of product announcements we can expect at the company’s upcoming Gather Round event, including details of new iPhones and Apple Watch models.

On the flip side, the XML file also suggests which rumored products we shouldn’t expect to be revealed later today. Most conspicuous is the absence of new iPad Pro and Mac models, which history suggests will now appear at a separate October event.
