Highlights of Apple’s 2018 Shareholders Meeting

Apple’s annual shareholders meeting took place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park this morning, with shareholders gathering to vote on proposals and ask questions of Apple executives.

Apple does not live stream its shareholders meetings, but several members of the press, such as CNET’s Shara Tibken and Business Insider’s Kif Leswing, were at the event and shared details on what was covered on Twitter.

Apple’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders to Take Place on February 13, Pre-Registration Required

Apple today updated its website for investors to note that its 2018 Annual Meeting of the shareholders will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park on February 13, 2018.

The record date for the meeting is December 15, 2017, and Apple plans to publish additional details about the upcoming meeting in the near future when the proxy statement is filed.

Apple says it expects more shareholders to want to attend than there are seats available, and so advance registration is required using a unique control number that will be issued following the filing of the proxy statement. Apple CEO Tim Cook and French President Macron Discussed Education and Taxes in Monday Meeting

Apple CEO Tim Cook today met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, and over the course of 45 minutes, the two discussed topics like education, the economy, and taxes in Europe, according to French news sites.

Apple would like to extend its „Everyone Can Code“ educational initiative to France, and plans to discuss its expansion with the Ministry of National Education.

Apple and Aetna Talked Data Privacy, Cost and More in Apple Watch Meeting

Apple and insurance provider Aetna met last week to discuss ways to offer discounted Apple Watch models to Aetna’s 23 million subscribers, and CNBC has shared details on some of the topics that were discussed at the meeting, attended by Aetna employees, Apple executives, and health providers from major hospitals.

Aetna is aiming to determine whether the Apple Watch can be used by subscribers to improve health outcomes by encouraging them to exercise, eat better, and better manage health issues.
