AMC today announced the upcoming launch of a new movie-watching service that’s designed to compete with MoviePass, allowing AMC customers to watch several movies per week for a monthly fee.
While MoviePass permits customers to watch one movie per day for $9.95 per month, there have been questions about its long-term sustainability. AMC’s „Stubs A-List“ offering will let customers watch three movies per week for $19.95 plus tax, which it claims is a „sustainable price.“

AT&T is again raising the price for grandfathered unlimited smartphone data plans by $5 per month, according to a support article on the carrier’s website and multiple tipsters who emailed us today. The price hike will be effective this July, and notifications appear to have started hitting the first wave of grandfathered unlimited plan users over the past few days.

Apple is encouraging customers who have previously trialed Apple Music, but were not convinced to pay for the service, to try it again.
For several months, some users who have already taken advantage of Apple Music’s initial free three-month trial period, but do not currently have a subscription, have been offered an additional month of complimentary access.
Apple has been alerting users to the offer at random with push notifications and emails in several countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Apple will start paying 13 billion euros in back taxes to the Irish government from May, according to the Financial Times, nearly two years after the European Commission ruled that the company received illegal aid from the country that saw its tax bill significantly reduced over the past few decades.
As expected, the report states that Apple and the Irish government have reached an agreement to set up an escrow account to hold the money while both sides appeal the August 2016 ruling in Europe’s highest court. Once the amount has been received in full, additional interest payments will be calculated.
