Eero ‚Not Changing a Word‘ of its Privacy Policy Under Amazon, Discounts Routers by $100 Today Only

Mesh Wi-Fi company Eero was acquired by Amazon one month ago, launching speculation by some consumers that the acquisition would allow Amazon access to even more user data. In a new interview with The Verge, Amazon SVP of devices and services Dave Limp claimed that Amazon will „not change anything“ about Eero, and that Eero is „not changing a word“ of its privacy policy.

Tim Cook Named to President Trump’s American Workforce Policy Advisory Board

The U.S. Department of Commerce today announced the 25 members of the Trump administration’s new American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, including Apple CEO Tim Cook and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty.

The advisory board’s recommendations will help guide the National Council for the American Worker’s efforts to establish a strategy to ensure that American students and workers have access to „affordable, relevant, and innovative education and job training that will equip them to compete and win in the global economy.“

Apple’s Extended Holiday Return Policy Begins Today, Return Deadline Set for January 8, 2019

Apple today announced that its annual extended holiday return policy begins today in the United States and several other countries around the world.

Under the policy, eligible products purchased between November 14, 2018 and December 25, 2018 can be returned until January 8, 2019 in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, and select other regions. You can return something ordered online or purchased in store, and Apple’s policy states that the items can be sent back to Apple for free through the mail or dropped off at any Apple Store.

Shazam Informing Users About Apple Acquisition, Account Data Now Aligned With Apple’s Privacy Policy

Nearly one year after Apple announced its acquisition of music recognition service Shazam, and one month since the acquisition was completed, Shazam has now begun informing users of Apple’s plans with their data (via iGeneration). You can see the new splash screen if you have a Shazam account and open up the app.

If you’ve created a Shazam account in the past, which allows you to share Shazams between devices, this data will now move to Apple and fall under the protection of Apple’s Privacy Policy.
