Instapaper Relaunches Premium Subscription at $2.99/Month, Updates Privacy Policy to Comply With GDPR

Read-it-later app Instapaper today announced that it is relaunching „Instapaper Premium“ as part of the company’s new initiative that’s looking towards „the next ten years of Instapaper and beyond.“ Instapaper is hoping to generate revenue after it became an independent company last month through a deal with parent company Pinterest.

Spotify’s Fewer U.S. Premium Members and Higher Churn Rate Attributable to Competition From Apple Music and Others

Consumer Intelligence Research Partners this afternoon shared analysis comparing data collected from Spotify subscribers in the United States and Spotify subscribers globally, finding some notable differences in habits between the two.

Spotify has a lower percentage of Spotify Premium subscribers in the United States compared to the global share, according to CIRP, which CIRP attributes to the competitive U.S. market that offers many different services from Apple, Google, Amazon, and others.

Texture Drops Premium Pricing to $9.99 for Existing Subscribers

Texture, the digital magazine service that Apple acquired earlier this year, recently dropped its $14.99 Premium price point for existing subscribers.

Texture Premium, which allows for access to both weekly and monthly magazines, is now priced at $9.99 for all customers, new and existing.

The price change was shared in an email from Harry McCracken yesterday, and confirmed today by Texture. Texture is streamlining its pricing plans and opting to sell a single $9.99 plan instead of multiple plans.

Netflix Testing New ‚Ultra‘ Tier of Service That Cuts Premium Plan Streams From Four to Two

Netflix is reportedly testing a new tier of service for subscribers that supersedes the existing top tier Premium plan, according to Italian blog Tutto Android.

Titled „Ultra“, the new plan would allow up to four devices to receive Ultra HD video and audio streaming at the same time. In Italy, the tier is priced at 16.99 euros, or approximately $19.80.
