Apple today shared an in-depth preview of the all-new Books app for iPhone and iPad coming in iOS 12 later this year.
As shown on stage at WWDC 2018 last week, the Books app has been completely redesigned with the following tabs: Reading Now displays all of the books you are currently reading or listening to. A new „Want to Read“ section allows you to keep a wishlist of books you are interested in. „Complete the Series“ or „You Might Like“ present books based on those you have recently finished. Apple today released iMovie version 10.1.9 for macOS as a free update to its consumer video editing software on the desktop. It’s the first update to the app since shortly after macOS High Sierra was released.
iMovie 10.1.9 adds support for the iPhone X and additional iPad resolutions in relation to App Previews, the feature for creating short videos that appear alongside screenshots in App Store listings on iPhone and iPad.
The update also includes a range of bug fixes and stability improvements:

Instagram today told TechCrunch that it is now featuring Instagram Stories more prominently with a larger preview box located between Instagram posts.
The Stories preview box now features a tiled design that’s much more noticeable when scrolling through an Instagram feed. Previously, the mid-feed box looked similar to the smaller Stories bar at the top of the feed, which Instagram says it does not have plans to replace.

iOS 11 has introduced a simple blanket solution for those who want to hide text previews for all of their apps at one time, bringing about a quick remedy for anyone concerned about privacy on iPhone and iPad. In previous iterations of iOS, you could only toggle the „Show Preview“ notification setting on or off for select apps, and the feature was largely exclusive to a few of Apple’s own first-party apps, like Messages.
