HomePod 12.1.1 Update and Shortcuts 2.1.2 Released, But No Sign of watchOS 5.1.2 Yet

Alongside the public release of iOS 12.1.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.2, and tvOS 12.1.1, Apple today released a companion 12.1.1 software update for the HomePod and updated its Shortcuts app for iOS 12 to version 2.1.2.

The software update for HomePod is a relatively minor one, adding Siri support for Cantonese and Mandarin in China and a Cantonese dialect in Hong Kong ahead of the HomePod’s release in those regions in early 2019. In addition, the LEDs on the top of the HomePod will now illuminate during Group FaceTime calls.

Parallels Toolbox 3 Released With Dark Mode and Other macOS Mojave Features

Parallels Toolbox for Mac has been updated with a handful of macOS Mojave features, including Dark Mode support and the ability to annotate screenshots with the new and improved systemwide Take Screenshot tool.

Parallels Toolbox 3, a free update for existing users, features three new tools for quickly uninstalling apps, viewing local times in various locations around the world, and revealing files and folders that are normally hidden in macOS.

Opera Touch Browser Released for iPhone and iPad

Opera Touch was released today for iOS. The „light, fast, and secure“ browser is specially designed for all-screen devices with no home button like the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, and comes with an interface that’s optimized for one-handed use.

Thanks to a floating „Fast Action“ menu button located at the bottom of the screen, users can touch to access a radial menu and swipe through several actions, enabling them to open and close browser tabs, perform searches, and navigating forwards and backwards through web pages with their thumb.

VMware Fusion 11 Released With Support for macOS Mojave, 18-Core iMac Pro, and More

VMware has released Fusion 11, the latest version of its virtualization software, with full support for macOS Mojave and the latest Mac hardware, including the 18-core iMac Pro and the 2018 MacBook Pro with a six-core Intel Core i9.

VMware Fusion, like rival software Parallels Desktop, can run hundreds of operating systems, ranging from the latest Windows 10 versions to Linux distributions like Ubuntu, directly on the desktop of a Mac.
