OnePlus today announced the launch of its latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 6, and the company couldn’t resist taking yet another jab at Apple and its decision to remove the headphone jack from its flagship iPhones.
During the event, OnePlus introduced new $69 OnePlus Bullets Wireless headphones that are shipping alongside the new OnePlus 6. „Just one thing though. I wonder. If you can connect your earphones using Bluetooth, you don’t need a headphone jack anymore, do you?“ said Carl Pei, OnePlus co-founder.

Following in the footsteps of parent company Facebook, Instagram is beginning a test in six countries today that will see the launch of a new standalone app called „Direct,“ which will be solely focused on direct messaging friends and family members. Animosity between Apple and many Android smartphone makers has been well-documented over the years, becoming abundant in 2012 through an ongoing lawsuit related to Apple’s suing of Samsung for copying the iPhone design with Android devices, as well as an Apple lawsuit aimed at Google-owned Motorola focusing on [...]
OnePlus today introduced its new flagship device, the OnePlus 5. During the event where the new phone was announced, OnePlus threw some shade at Apple, mocking the removal of the headphone jack in the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
„On the bottom, you’ll notice that we ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack. The elegance of the overall design is instantly heightened. And who needs a headphone jack anyway? That’s why Bluetooth exists, right?“ deadpanned Diego Heinz, a designer at OnePlus. „Just kidding. Of course the OnePlus 5 has a headphone jack.“
