Samsung is planning to unveil its next-generation smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and S9+, at an event that’s set to take place at Mobile World Congress on February 25, but ahead of that date, several images have leaked depicting the South Korean company’s new flagship device.
Noted leaker Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, has shared several renders of the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ on Twitter, along with details about what to expect from the device that will compete directly with Apple’s own iPhone X.

While the rumored 6.1-inch iPhone isn’t expected to feature an OLED display like the iPhone X, the device will still have a more advanced LCD display than previous iPhones, according to Taiwan’s Commercial Times.
Japan Display’s Full Active LCD The report, translated from Chinese, claims Apple will be adopting Japan Display’s so-called „Full Active“ LCD technology. Unlike traditional LCDs, like those of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Full Active LCDs only require ultra-slim 0.5mm bezels on all four sides, even smaller than those on the iPhone X.

Apple will release three iPhones in 2018, including two OLED models and one LCD model that could feature a metal back like the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, reports Nikkei.
Citing a source „privy to the company’s product designs,“ Nikkei says the LCD model will feature a 6.1-inch display, while the two OLED models will measure in at 5.8 inches and either 6.2 or 6.3 inches.
The LCD model with a metal back will „come in several colors,“ much like existing aluminum iPhones, and the body for the device could be manufactured by Casetek, a Pegatron subsidiary.

Apple will release a second-generation iPhone SE in the first half of 2018, according to China’s Economic Daily News.
The report claims the tentatively named iPhone SE 2 will be assembled exclusively by Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron at its factory in Bengaluru, India, where some assembly of the current iPhone SE occurs.
The rumored release date window lines up with an earlier report from Focus Taiwan claiming a new iPhone SE will ship in the first quarter of 2018, which encompasses January through March of next year.
