CES 2018: Brinks Announces New HomeKit-Compatible ARRAY Smart Lights and Lock

Home security brand Brinks is expanding its ARRAY line of smart home products with new outdoor lighting options equipped with cameras and smart deadbolts that let you make sure your door is secure from afar.

The ARRAY Smart Light fixtures, which are meant to replace a home’s existing outdoor lighting, include built-in cameras with custom lenses and improved camera firmware to offer up reduced shadows and distortion.

CES 2018: Colgate Debuts Apple Exclusive Smart Electronic Toothbrush With ResearchKit Integration

Colgate this week announced the launch of its first app-enabled electronic toothbrush, called the Colgate Smart Electronic Toothbrush E1 with Artificial Intelligence. Available exclusively beginning today on Apple.com and in some Apple retail locations, Colgate’s new product provides a few pieces of real-time feedback to help users improve their brushing routine.

CES 2018: ‚U by Moen‘ Smart Shower System Adding Support for Apple HomeKit and Siri Voice Controls

One year after being announced during CES 2017, faucet brand Moen is back at CES this year with a new announcement for its „U by Moen“ cloud-based, Wi-Fi enabled shower system (via CNET). The company this week revealed that the smart shower will add support for Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa AI assistants in the first half of 2018, letting you control water temperature and more with voice commands on connected smartphones and speakers.

Canalys Predicts 2018 Will Be ‚Defining Year‘ for Smart Speaker Growth

A new report posted today by Canalys predicts that 2018 will be „the defining year“ for smart speaker adoption, with the global market expected to grow to 56.3 million shipments by the end of the year, up from just over 30 million in 2017 (via TechCrunch).

Canalys predicts that Amazon and Google will remain in the lead with Echo and Home speakers, respectively. In addition to existing products, Apple’s HomePod will be one of multiple new entries in the market to help smart speaker consumer adoption grow this year.
