Apple today shared two new videos in its „Life’s easier on iPhone“ series, which are aimed at encouraging Android users to switch over to an iPhone.
The first ad, „App Store,“ depicts exploding app icons that are meant to demonstrate the superior safety of the iOS App Store, which is curated by human editors to protect against malicious apps.
Apple’s second ad highlights Portrait Mode and Portrait Lighting on the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X, both features that are designed to offer studio quality effects with the iPhone.

iDevices today announced the launch of the latest product in its smart home lineup, the iDevices Instant Switch. The Instant Switch is a simple wireless wall switch that’s designed to attach to a surface using adhesive, so there’s no tricky installation required.
The Instant Switch, which was first announced at CES 2017, is designed to work with existing iDevices HomeKit products using a Bluetooth connection, providing an additional method of control. According to iDevices, the Instant Switch can be paired to a hard-wired iDevices Wall or Dimmer Switch to create a three or four-way control configuration, for example.

Following a report that the United States government is investigating Apple’s power management function that slows down some older iPhone models, Apple issued a statement on late Tuesday confirming that it has „received questions from some government agencies“ and is „responding to them.“
In the statement, Apple also confirmed the timing of its promised power management toggle, allowing customers with an iPhone 6 through iPhone 7 Plus to disable the function: it will be rolling out in a future iOS 11.3 beta version in February. The software update will be publicly released later this spring.
