Eternal Storms Software today released Yoink 2.0 for iOS and Yoink 3.5 for Mac, two major upgrades to the popular drag and drop-improving „shelf“ app.
For those unfamiliar, Yoink acts like a convenient shelf for users to drag in files and other content, do something else (switch apps, tabs, and so on) and then easily access those items again by dragging them out of Yoink.
Version 2.0 of Yoink for iOS brings iCloud sync support, so items stored in Yoink are available across iOS devices logged into the same Apple account. Each device has its own „shelf“ in iCloud, so all items are grouped for easy discoverability.

A few days after updating its iOS app to version 3.0, Philips Hue today is launching the „Philips Hue Sync“ app for Mac and PC computers. Using the app, users can sync their Hue lights to films, music, and games that they’re interacting with for an even more „immersive experience,“ according to the company.
The app works by creating light scripts for nearby Hue lights, based on screen-grabbed content from the Mac and what Philips calls a „smart color algorithm.“ With this information gathered, the app then matches the chosen Hue lights to the on-screen action of games and films in real time.

At CES in January, Ford discussed a new partnership with crowdsource navigation app Waze that aimed to bring Waze onto the touch screen of SYNC 3 vehicles through Ford’s AppLink. That partnership has been fully realized today with Waze users worldwide now able to connect their iPhones to AppLink via USB and mirror Waze on their infotainment system.
This allows drivers to access their favorite Waze features when following a route, searching for a nearby gas station, and even reporting traffic accidents, all while their iPhone is safely stored and locked.
